Adopting my little Russian hamster from Hamster Welfare Bangladesh (HWBD) has been a truly heartwarming experience. From the very beginning, the team at HWBD was incredibly supportive and caring. They clearly love what they do and are deeply committed to the welfare of every tiny life they rescue and rehome.
When I first saw him, he was a shy little ball of fluff, quietly sitting in the corner and observing everything with curious eyes. The volunteers told me he had been rescued from a situation where he wasn’t being cared for properly, and they had been nursing him back to health and helping him regain trust in people. Hearing his story made me even more determined to give him a safe and loving home.
The adoption process itself was smooth and responsible. HWBD took the time to explain proper hamster care, including diet, habitat setup, and enrichment. They made sure I understood how to keep him happy and healthy before letting me take him home. It was clear that they prioritize the wellbeing of the animals above everything else.
Since coming home, my little hamster has quickly shown his personality. During the day he loves to curl up in his bedding like a tiny cotton ball, but at night he becomes an energetic explorer—running through tunnels, digging through bedding, and sometimes stuffing his cheeks with seeds like he’s preparing for winter. Watching him explore his new home has been both adorable and fascinating.
One of my favorite moments was when he finally became comfortable enough to climb onto my hand. That small moment of trust felt incredibly special. It reminded me that adoption doesn’t just change an animal’s life—it changes ours too.
